The DT6979-QZ is a DEWALT XLR 300mm x 20mm SDS-Plus flat chisel featuring the XLR dual-steel self-sharpening construction. The XLR design uses a harder outer layer over a tougher core so that normal wear maintains a consistently sharp cutting edge, extending the chisel’s working life beyond conventional single-steel chisels.
The 300mm length and 20mm width make this chisel suitable for cable and pipe chasing, channel cutting, and tile removal using SDS-Plus rotary hammers. The XLR self-sharpening feature reduces the need for chisel replacement in high-volume chasing operations.
Compatible with all SDS-Plus rotary hammers in chisel-only mode. Suitable for electrical and plumbing chasing, channel cutting, and renovation work where extended chisel life and consistent cutting performance are important.
