ABB The AF52-30-11 is a 3 pole – 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with 2 built-in auxiliary contacts and screw terminals, controlling motors up to 22 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 30 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 100 A (AC-1) or 90 A (UL-A600).
Description
The ABB AF52-30-11 is a mid-range 3-pole contactor from ABB’s AF-Line series, designed for motor control applications requiring reliable switching of loads up to 22 kW at 400 V AC (AC-3) or 30 hp at 480 V UL. With an AC-1 general-purpose switching rating of 100 A at IEC or 90 A at UL-A600, this contactor is suited to a wide range of medium-duty industrial motor control applications, including pump drives, conveyor systems, compressors, and HVAC fan motors. It is supplied with two built-in auxiliary contacts (1 N.O. + 1 N.C.) and screw terminal connections, supporting immediate signalling and interlocking without additional accessories.
Rated at 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL, the AF52-30-11 complies with IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 508 standards and features ABB’s wide-range coil, accepting 100 to 250 V AC at 50/60 Hz or 100 to 250 V DC in a single device. This versatility eliminates the need to specify and stock multiple coil voltage variants, reducing complexity for panel builders and distributors supplying multiple markets. The robust construction and silver alloy contact system ensure reliable performance across the demanding duty cycles typical of industrial motor control installations.
The AF52-30-11 mounts on standard 35 mm DIN rail and is compatible with ABB’s TF42 series electronic overload relays, enabling the assembly of a compact, co-ordinated motor starter directly on the DIN rail. Its two built-in auxiliary contacts support control circuit interlocking, run indication, fault signalling, and PLC integration. This contactor is a reliable and efficient choice for plant engineers and panel builders specifying motor control solutions for process industry applications, water and wastewater facilities, building services plants, and general industrial manufacturing environments.
