ABB The M2SS1-31R Selector Switch is: 2-position – Short handle – Red – Illuminated – Chrome Metal – No contact block
Description
The ABB M2SS1-31R is a 2-position illuminated selector switch with a short red handle and chrome metal bezel, designed for use in industrial control panels and machine operator interfaces. The illuminated red actuator provides a clear visual indication of the selected switch position, supporting intuitive operator interaction in machine control, process control, and building services applications. As with all M2 series selector switches, the M2SS1-31R is supplied without a contact block, allowing the user to select and attach the appropriate MCB or MCBH contact block configuration for their specific circuit requirements.
The M2SS1-31R complies with IEC 60947-5-1 for industrial control circuit devices and accepts standard 22 mm panel mounting, the most widely used industrial operator interface standard. The maintained-action mechanism ensures the switch remains in the selected position after the operator releases the handle, appropriate for stop, off, or emergency stop mode selection and indication functions. The chrome metal bezel adds durability and a premium finish that is well-suited to high-specification machine and panel installations.
Compatible with the full range of ABB MCB and MCBH contact block modules, the M2SS1-31R integrates into ABB’s modular M2 operator component system, supporting flexible contact configuration to match the electrical requirements of the control circuit. The red illuminated handle is commonly used for stop, off, alarm, or emergency mode indication in machine and process control systems. This switch is widely applied in machine tool control, industrial process automation, crane and hoist controls, and building services control panels where a reliable, professional illuminated selector switch is required.
