ABB System pro M compact S200 miniature circuit breakers are current limiting. They have two different tripping mechanisms, the delayed thermal tripping mechanism for overload protection and the electromechanic tripping mechanism for short circuit protection. They are available in different characteristics (B,C,D,K,Z), configurations (1P,1P+N,2P,3P,3P+N,4P), breaking capacities (up to 6 kA at 230/400 V AC) and rated currents (up to 63A). All MCBs of the product range S200 comply with IEC/EN 60898-1, IEC/EN 60947-2, UL1077 allowing the use for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Bottom-fitting auxiliary contact can be mounted on S200 to save 50% space.

Description

The ABB S202C10 is a 2-pole Type C miniature circuit breaker rated at 10 A, part of ABB’s System pro M compact S200 product family. It provides simultaneous overload and short-circuit protection for both poles of a single-phase 230 V circuit or a two-phase branch circuit, with Type C magnetic tripping characteristics that initiate instantaneous disconnection for fault currents between 5 and 10 times the rated current. This characteristic is suitable for circuits supplying loads with inrush currents, including motor loads, fluorescent lighting systems, and transformer-fed circuits where nuisance tripping must be avoided.

The S202C10 complies with IEC 60898-1 and EN 60898-1, with a rated voltage of 230/400 V AC and a 6 kA short-circuit capacity at 230 V. The 2-pole format simultaneously disconnects both the line and neutral conductors, providing complete circuit isolation on a single device and satisfying the isolation requirements of installations where both poles must be opened simultaneously for safe maintenance. The compact 35 mm DIN rail mounting and 17.5 mm per pole width enable efficient use of panel space in consumer units and distribution boards.

The S202C10 is compatible with ABB’s full S200 accessory range, including auxiliary contacts, alarm contacts, remote operating shunt and voltage releases, and RCD add-on modules, enabling enhanced protection and monitoring capabilities. It is widely used in commercial distribution boards for single-phase circuit protection, machine control panel supply protection, two-phase circuit protection, and any application requiring 2-pole disconnection at 10 A with Type C tripping characteristics. Its combination of compact size, standards compliance, and broad accessory compatibility makes it a versatile and trusted component in European electrical distribution systems.
