ABB The AF116-30-11 is a 3 pole – 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL contactor with 2 built-in auxiliary contacts and screw terminals, controlling motors up to 55 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 75 hp / 480 V UL and switching power circuits up to 250 A (AC-1) or 200 A (UL-A600).
Description
The ABB AF116-30-11 is a high-capacity 3-pole contactor from ABB’s AF-Line series, designed for heavy industrial motor control and power distribution switching applications. With motor ratings up to 55 kW at 400 V AC (AC-3) or 75 hp at 480 V UL, and AC-1 switching capability of 250 A at IEC ratings or 200 A at UL-A600, this contactor is built for demanding duty cycles in industrial plants, motor control centres, and large switchboard assemblies. It includes two built-in auxiliary contacts and screw terminals as standard, and its robust silver alloy main contacts are engineered for long electrical and mechanical life.
The AF116-30-11 features ABB’s patented wide-range coil technology, accepting control voltages from 100 to 250 V AC at 50/60 Hz or 100 to 250 V DC in a single coil version, eliminating the requirement to stock multiple variants for different supply voltages. Rated for operation up to 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL, this contactor complies with IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 508 standards, making it suitable for both European and international industrial installations. The device is housed in a robust moulded enclosure designed for direct DIN rail or screw mounting in standard industrial control panels.
The AF116-30-11 is compatible with ABB’s TF65 and TF96 series electronic overload relays, which mount directly onto the contactor to form a compact and co-ordinated motor protection starter assembly. Its two built-in auxiliary contacts facilitate feedback signalling, interlocking, and remote monitoring within complex control systems. This contactor is widely applied in large pump and fan drives, compressor control, heavy conveyor systems, process machinery, and large HVAC plant installations where reliable, high-current motor switching is required.
