Description

The SPB440D is a 4-pole Type 2 Surge Protection Device for TN-S and TT earthing systems, with a continuous operating voltage of 275V, a nominal discharge current of 20kA, and a maximum discharge capacity of 40kA. The higher discharge ratings compared to the SPB415D make it suitable for installations requiring greater protection energy handling capacity.
The voltage protection level (Up) of 1.35kV limits transient voltages to a safe level for downstream equipment. The SPB440D is installed at the main distribution board incomer to protect all connected equipment against lightning and switching-induced voltage surges. It conforms to IEC 61643-11 Type 2 requirements.
The SPB440D occupies 4 DIN rail modules and operates from -40°C to +80°C. It is RoHS compliant and suitable for three-phase 240-415V AC networks in commercial and industrial installations requiring enhanced surge protection.
