6945X 16mm² SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable is a 5-core power cable manufactured to BS 5467 and IEC 60502 standards. It features a Class 2 stranded plain annealed copper conductor to BS EN 60228:2005, XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation, PVC bedding, galvanised steel wire armour for mechanical protection, and a black PVC outer sheath. Core colours: brown, black, grey, blue, and green/yellow. Rated 600/1000V, with a maximum current rating of around 94–96A, and an operating temperature range of -15°C to +90°C. Overall cable diameter is approximately 22.9mm, suiting an M40 gland and size 10 cleat. Suitable for power networks, underground, indoor, and outdoor applications, including direct burial, cable trays, and ducting. Commonly used for mains power distribution and industrial wiring where high mechanical protection is required. Sold cut to length, priced per metre.
