Description

The ARC540U is an Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) combined with a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) in a 2-module, 1P+N format. Rated at 40A with a B-curve and 6 kA breaking capacity, it detects arcing faults caused by damaged or deteriorated wiring and disconnects the circuit within milliseconds to reduce the risk of electrical fires.
AFDDs such as the ARC540U are increasingly required under modern wiring regulations for circuits in higher-risk environments. The device monitors waveform patterns to distinguish between normal load characteristics and dangerous arcing conditions, providing a level of protection that standard MCBs cannot offer.
The ARC540U is DIN rail mountable in a 2-module housing and is suitable for installation in standard consumer units and distribution boards. It operates at 230V AC and meets the requirements of IEC 62606.
