6943X 1.5mm² SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable is a 3-core power and control cable manufactured to BS 5467, BASEC approved. It features a Class 2 stranded copper conductor, XLPE insulation (nominal thickness 0.6mm), PVC bedding, galvanised steel wire armour for mechanical protection, and a black PVC outer sheath. Core identification: brown, black, and grey. Voltage rating is 0.6/1kV (600/1000V), with a fixed temperature rating of -25°C to +90°C and a minimum bending radius of 6x the overall diameter. Nominal overall diameter is approximately 11.5–12.9mm, weighing around 255–330kg/km, and suits a 20S BW/CW gland with CC5 wraparound cleats. Current rating approximately 23A (clipped direct). Suitable for mains power distribution, low-power lighting circuits, and 13A switches/sockets in indoor, outdoor, and underground applications, including direct burial, cable ducting, tray, basket, or free air installation.
