6943X 4.0mm² SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable is a 3-core power and control cable manufactured to BS 5467, IEC 60502, and BS EN (IEC) 60332-1-2, BASEC approved. It features a Class 2 stranded plain copper conductor to BS EN 60228:2005, XLPE insulation (nominal thickness 0.7mm), PVC bedding, galvanised steel wire armour for mechanical protection, and a black PVC outer sheath. Core identification: brown, black, and grey. Voltage rating is 0.6/1kV (600/1000V), with a fixed temperature rating of -25°C to +90°C and a minimum bending radius of 6x the overall diameter. Overall cable diameter is approximately 13.7–15.3mm, weighing around 420–464kg/km, and suits a 20S BW/CW gland with CC7 wraparound cleats. Current rating approximately 36–43A. Suitable for mains power distribution, auxiliary control, and industrial applications in indoor, outdoor, and underground settings, including direct burial, cable ducting, tray, basket, or free air installation, and can be embedded in concrete.
